ASB St John in Schools

This week we had Kathryn from St John visiting us to teach us about first aid and responding to emergencies.

The junior children explored emergencies, identified when to call 111, how to call 111 and ways to help before an ambulance arrives. They also learned to recognise dangers: poisons/falls and how to make safe decisions at home and at school.

The senior children participated in a junior first aid training course; learning how to assess patients using DRSABC and take appropriate action. They learned how to perform CPR on unresponsive patients and the use of an AED (defibrillator)
